Affordable Fast Wideangle
I've had the lens for almost a year using it on a crop camera. Sharpness/Softness: For this review soft means you can just start to see lack of sharpness in an A4 print. Center is sharp at all apertures, the borders are a touch soft at f1.8, corners are noticably soft at F1.8.

A great lens, not sure what I received was a new lens.
The only problem was the box was beat up and the lenses was very dirty on both sides, there were no visible scratches but I got the feeling that the lens was used. No damage but if you spend $500. On a lens I would expect to get it in better condition.

Very nice "classic" lens for people who enjoy photography rather than having the latest technology
I never wrote a product review before but this lens causes so much confusion across the internet that I couldn't resist offering my opinion. I only use it as a standard prime on a cropped sensor so I'm not referring to it's use as a wide angle lens on a full-frame sensor.

Still a solid choice on crop body
I have owned this lens for almost three years and have used it on a 40d, 60d and a 7d. I love the speed and accuracy of the USM focus system and appreciate the solid build quality and feel of this lens in hand.

Solid Construction. Good low light performance on a T6i. Excellent sharpness at f2.8. Still not bad at f1.8. Nice wide angle without fisheye for a crop DSLR.

Canon 28mm f1.8
I wanted a wide angle prime and was caught between the 24mm f2.8 and the 28mm f1.8. I decided to go with aperture over focal length. I think I made a good choice. This is a good lens, fast focus, sharp images. So far I am pleased with my choice. Thanks again to B&H for their help and fast delivery.

Great prime bargain
Pros: I grew up with manual focus prime lenses so the Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 feels like home to me. I use the autofocus most of the time ?ò it's spot on and fast, but I like to focus manually, especially with the very shallow depth of field this lens offers at f/1.8, and it has a large and very smooth...

Extremely Pleased
This has been my favorite lens so far. I have another fixed lens of Canon's that I fell in love with & both are great. The images are crisp and clear and they are sturdy/durable.
