The lens I received was decentered i.e. the left side of the photos (especially on large apertures) is much softer than the right side. Make sure you test yours.

Handling and features Performance Verdict Specification This wide angle lens provides an angle of view equivalent to a 36mm lens used on a 35mm camera and costs around £760. It has a fast maximum aperture of f/1.8, silent internal focusing and is one of Sony's premium lenses that carries Carl Zeiss...
Superb build quality; Lightweight; Fast; accurate focusing; Excellent sharpness
CA levels a touch high towards the edges of the frame
Aside from its asking price, there's not much to gripe about with the Sony Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* E 24mm F1.8 ZA. It's an extremely sharp lens, even at the edges of the frame at f/1.8, and it focuses quite close.
Strong edge-to-edge sharpness; Minimal distortion; Wide aperture; Wide-angle field of view
Omits optical stabilization and weather sealing; Corners dim at widest apertures; Pricey
This is a great lens - very sharp, I like the field of view as 24mm looks very natural on APS-C for a good general purpose lens, and f1.8 is great for low light. My bottom line is that I bought this while on vacation in NYC and I ended up with some great low light / night time shots that I probably...
The other reviewers are spot on. Their technical description of this lenses attributes are spot on. What I will add is that this is my go to street photography lens. I was a little leary as I really wanted a 35mm walking around prime lens. I am not disappointed at all.
As a matter of personal standards, I never reduce a product's rating for anything you can clearly see in pictures or read in descriptions. I knew I was buying a thousand dollar lens, so I won't dock an egg for that. I could see that the box looked just like the paperboard box that my camera was in.
This lens has amazing optical quality; The pictures it takes are amazing; Even the low-light shots are leagues better than the kit lens; Autofocus is smooth, quick, and quiet
I'll list it as a con, but it doesn't affect my rating; The lens is expensive; I paired it with a NEX-5N, so the lens by itself is more expensive than my camera was (I purchased the camera when it was released--paid around $700 I believe).
This lens is exactly what I've wanted. It's a 36mm equivalent, opens at 1.8. It's the perfect walk-around lens. Sharpness Beautiful center at f1.8, beautiful everywhere at f2.8, perfect at f4.
Rich images; detailed and with character

I bought this lens a few weeks ago to use with the a6000. I have owned the a6000 for a while but haven't used it much because I also have the A7R Mk2 which as a full frame camera has many advantages.
Great for landscapes and street photography. Makes you want to up your game and be worthy of the lens
Brilliant optical quality; Durable; Great Picture Quality
Not cheap
