not the best printer I've ever owned but not the worst

This printer is not for the faint of heart. Took a few hours with tech support (very good tech support) to even figure out where the settings for the print quality, paper setup, etc.

Inexpensive; Lightweight

Did not meet expectations; Poor quality

Samsung SL-M2020W review: A mini laser printer at an unbeatable price

When you think of printers, the brand "Samsung" may not be the first one to come to mind. But given the fact that the company's entry-level Samsung Printer Xpress M2020W Wi-Fi-enabled laser printer can be had for little more than the price of some ink cartridges, the likes of HP, Canon, Epson, and Brother might want to be looking over their shoulders.

The Samsung SL-M2020W is the best laser printer you can buy in the ultrabudget price range.

The Samsung SL-M2020W printer is small; relatively fast; and bristling with features; including Wi-Fi; NFC compatibility; and the ability to print from iOS and Android mobile devices.

Replacement toner cartridges cost almost as much as the printer itself.

Samsung Xpress M2020W Review

Clearly designed for personal, rather than office use, the Samsung Xpress M2020W ($129.99) monochrome laser printer offers reasonably good speed along with output quality that's good enough for most business needs. It also offers Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, and NFC support, which gives it an edge over much of its competition. Unfortunately, its running cost is high enough to be a potential issue if you need it for anything more than extremely light-duty use. Like the Brother HL-2240 and Samsung's own Xpress M2625D ($470.00 at Amazon) , which is our Editors' Choice for a low-cost personal monochrome laser, the M2020W ($999.99 at Amazon) is smaller than most inkjets, at 7.0 by 13.0 by 8.5 inches. The combination of the small size and a low paper capacity, at 150 sheets, is what defines the M2020 as a personal printer. One advantage the M2020W has over both the Brother HL-2240 and Samsung M2625D is its Wi-Fi support, although not in the way you might think. Although Wi-Fi will let you sh...

The Samsung Xpress M2020W is small enough to serve as a personal monochrome laser printer, but if you're planning anything more than light-duty printing, its high running cost could be an issue.

Small; Suitable paper capacity for a personal printer; Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, and NFC support

High running cost; No Ethernet connector; Lacks duplexer; No additional paper handling options available

So far this printer has been the perfect choice for me. I only print an occasional email or return label and didn't need a lot of extras, this is perfect.

OK, but beware of changing your broadband supplier.

When I first got this printer it was easy to set up and seemed to work well. Print quality is good and there are various eco-options to save ink, print double sided, etc. Occasionally it was a bit temperamental and wouldn't print but generally was fairly reliable.

Great for the Price

Terrific little laser printer. Fast and inexpensive. Could not get wireless to work however but USB is just as good.

Good Value; Easy to Use; Fast

Early report: Good - but doesn't play well with netgear router

I just got this printer set up, so this is an immediate review, not a longevity review. I like the small footprint, and it suits our small home printing needs. For the price, it is quiet and fast, and cheaper to run than an inkjet (if my figures are correct).

No WiFi

I am using a TP_Link router and this printer will not connect to it at all. I have no issues with any of my other devices. Also, I printed out about 20 pages and the toner is already 17% used up. The toner is almost the same price (I got this printer on sale) as the printer itself.

Inexpensive

Did not meet expectations

good size for a crowded desk

The one thing I like the best about this printer is it's small footprint on the desk - I don't use a printer much these days but still need one and this size is perfect. It seems to work just fine but honestly I have had it for amount a month so can't say what two years I will think.
