A Classic Nikon Lens
I've been using Nikon equipment for over 50 years and the 50mm f/1.4 was my first lens. With the evolution to digital all of my lens are zooms. I bought this lens primarily for night street photography. It has proven to be everything I thought it would be and more.
Pros:
- Sharp Great low light performance Light weight Great price
Cons:
- Its a prime
- doesn't zoom

Affordable compromise
I started with the 35mm 1.8, but kept looking at the 85mm 1.4. During the search I discovered the 50mm 1.4. Since I use a D7200, I decided that saving $1,000 and getting 70mm equivalent was close enough for now. After my first photo shoot I am very pleased with the compromise.

What a great lens!
OMG. How did I live without this lens the Bokeh is buttery soft and my photos on my D750 are terrific It's also very light so is great to walk around with. Love it.

OH MY LANTA! I love this lens! I have been doing photography for 2 years now and have slowly built on my collection of lenses. This lens, aside from the 85mm 1.8f is by far my favorite portrait lens. Really it is the most universal sense and it provides amazing quality pictures!

An ideal portrait lens when used on a Nikon DX-format digital SLR, approximating the angle of view similar to that of a 75mm lens on a Nikon FX-format digital SLR or a 35mm film camera

Best lens i have ever owned
I am so happy with this lens and i am so glad that i bought it. I have been wanting to buy this lens but its expensive but finally i did. The 1.4 f makes it the best to use indoor with minimal light. The photo quality is sharp and brighter. This has just become my favorite lens for portrait :)

Great Lense
I used this for portraits and wedding pics. Works well with my D7200. You even get more zoom with the DX cameras. I would recommend this lens for anyone who wants to do outdoor portraits. Works fantastic with great detail and bokeh. The background blur is great for a detail subject.

Solid Nifty Fifty
This is an awesome little lens for the price. However, it's worth would massively depend on what you're buying it for. if like me you're using it on things like shooting wedding parties, then it is worth splasing out for the F1.4 G.

Nikon was responsible for the first 50mm f/1.4 back in 1950, and has continued to produce amazing updates ever since... This version is no exception, with fantastic sharpness at the widest f/1.4 aperture, and the build quality, while mostly plastic, feels solid due to its compact size and weight...
