One of the best cameras for entry level DSLR. Have used extensively and the results are fantastic. Have combined with Nikon 50mm and 35 mm lenses to get some very good pictures.

I'm fortunate to also own a D7200 with a 16-85mm zoom. I bought the D5500 because it would be lighter to carry and I'm not a great lover of compact cameras. To sum this camera with the 18-55 VR II lens up in one word - SUPERB. Don't underestimate the quality of the lens either.
