Nikon D5500 Review

The Nikon D5500 is an excellent entry-level and enthusiast-on-a-budget DSLR. The camera is not overly intimidating for new users and offers plenty of features to move you along as you learn. The experienced enthusiast will benefit from the impressive feature set while not breaking the bank.

With so many types of cameras targeting newcomers to photography, Nikon's latest D5500 certainly has some serious work cut out for it.

Great multi-purpose camera

I work a lot with both photo and video, so this camera is a good fit for me. The image quality is excellent, it is full of useful features, and the compact size makes it easy to carry in a smaller bag.

Great camera and very easy to use.

The one thing I wish was available are much clearer instructions, especially or the flash I received with this bundle. I'm lost and there is nothing online that can help me figure this out.

Easy To Use; Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus; Fast Shutter Speed; Good Image Quality; Good Image Stabilization; High ISO Performance; Large Clear LCD

Noisy At High ISO

Low light performance is amazing. Autofocus works well, so does bracketing and WiFi connectivity. Highly recommended.

Awesome Camera

Camera is phenomenal ! Been looking for a D5500 W/ 18-140 mm lens kit and they were sold out every place I checked. Crutchfield had one in outlet, was open box model. Looks brand new. Camera takes great pictures, compact and lite weight for traveling and hiking backcountry of Yosemite.

Takes incredible pictures. Has more features than I'll ever need. Compact and lite weight for travel. Has removable lens Touchscreen

Nikon D5500

Finding a decent entry level DSLR is always challenging, with the sheer number of cameras on offer making it difficult for new buyers to tell which is worthiest of their attention. But, those on the hunt for one would do well to check out the Nikon D550.

Excellent updated handling; Solid performance; great images; Fast AF

No GPS; Conservative upgrades

Nikon D5500 review

When we reviewed the Nikon D5300 14 months ago it was a case of close but no cigar. There's no shortage of superb SLRs and compact system cameras (CSCs) around the £650 price mark, and the D5300 didn't do enough to stand out. Note: Review, specs and priced based on 18-55mm VR II kit.

This is a grey import, beware unless you don't ...

This is a grey import, beware unless you don't care about lack of warranty. For info, I wrote a looooong review detailing specifics of my purchase and the problems with it (lack of warranty or suitable plug source for U.K.), but it was rejected. I wonder why! Let's see if this review makes it.
