I read a favorable review of the BackTrack in a hunting/outdoors magazine and was interested in trying one out - but the original $80 price tag (for such a basic unit) was a bit rich for me.

I bought this for quick hike and shorter outings where a conventional GPS unit is not really needed. It does the job well and the price was right. Also makes a great back up to your full size GPS, in case it goes down. My only complaint is it is a little bigger than I anticipated.

The direction to the waypoint indicator points in any direction apart from the right way! I'd hate to rely on this product if I was lost. I sent it back

I bought this based on the description on the box stating that it could store up to three locations. My misunderstanding; you cannot enter locations, you can only mark locations where you are physically located so you can get back to them.

This is an excellent little device for insurance when camping in new territory. It often takes a minute or two to get started and sometimes initial activation seems to be delayed when surrounded by tall trees. Once it is active for the day, it comes back on line down the trail more quickly.

Used it for the first time today. In woods hunting. Easy to find your way out of wilderness without fear of getting lost. Simple and easy to use - no complicated instructions, etc. Need a way to delete old waypoints (locations). Only way now is to identify a new location.

Altimeter is not accurate and can not download my daily trip on my pc ( window xp ).Call for technical support but the guy wasn't very helpful
