Simple set-up, fast wi-FI, good coverage

Bought this based on many favorable reviews. Current 7 year old router had poor coverage, and slow wi-FI speeds, even when in the same room. Installation was simple and straightforward.

Easy To Set Up; Fast; Fast Connection Speed; Reliable connection

Ultimately the ASUS RT-AC66U router, despite the low speeds in 802.11n protocol, does offer a completely future proof systems as 802.11ac equipped devices are expected to be commonplace by 2015.

Easy to get it up and running.

I love my new router. It has been in service for 2 weeks and I have a house full of wireless devices and I can already tell that my bandwidth load handling is better. You do get what you pay for and this was definitely worth it.

ASUS RT-AC66U & PCE-AC66 802.11AC Network Kit Review

Only a few short years ago, ASUS was a relative unknown in the consumer networking marketplace, a marketplace which was dominated by only a few key major players. This near-monopoly set the cost of entry absurdly high and pushed many consumers towards lower level products.

Not worth the cash

Bought this a year ago expecting a super dooper router, sadly its not. The GUI user interface whatever you want to call it is crap. The Ugly plastic antenna are cosmetic only and cheaply made, one snapped off when i tried to wall mount it and its actually only 2 inches long, the rest is just a...

Hmm on paper it sounds great

Really poor user interface and terrible options Ugly plastic antenas that are cosmetic WIFI kept dropping out on the 4g side

Balanced

It's a router with a fast cpu and generous RAM. It is quite overkill if there's few users and devices. It is also future-proof for Wifi AC capable devices since right now, only my smartphone is AC capable.

technology at a reasonable cost

Is it worth the money?

I paid a lot of money for this product. In the $200 range which I'd consider a large purchase. I read a lot of reviews on it prior to and it was often times ranked #1 in the market.
