I paid a lot of money for this product. In the $200 range which I'd consider a large purchase. I read a lot of reviews on it prior to and it was often times ranked #1 in the market.
Solid router with easy to configure settings. If you are a money no object fibre user then this router is for you. With its easy to use manuals and intuitive onboard software you can be up and running in no time.
This is a good router with better features. Speed not as per specification. It again depends on the speed of the wireless adapter of your laptop. I just get connectivity of 72 Mbps I haven't seen any change in speed in my usage compared to my old one Linksys WRT54G G router.
Easy To Set Up
Simple to set up. Signal strength far more powerful than my old Trendnet. No need to reset in the 2 weeks it's been in action. Actual wireless transmission speeds more than 10 mbps upload and download -- more than twice my old Trendnet.
I've had this router for 4 weeks now. It was purchased as a replacement for a Belkin AC1200 (which was an awful router) and the Belkin was a replacement for a BT HH3. Initially, I was very disappointed with the router. It required a reboot every morning.
With great performance and lots of useful features, the Asus RT-AC66U, with the latest firmware, is one of the best 802.11ac-ready routers on the market and worthy of its hefty price tag.
Great 5GHz performance; AiCloud features
Runs hot
Asus currently builds the best consumer-oriented 802.11n router-the RT-N66U Dual-Band Wireless N900 , which I used as a reference device to compare
Kitguru says: With the potential of 1.3 Gbps data transfer rate this will be a fast performing router which will be perfect for the media savvy audience for years to come.
Performance of 5 GHz at close range is very impressive; Lots of great features; Extremely stable router; ASUS AiCloud incorporated; A future-proof wireless router
High price tag; 5 GHz speeds dropped off quite quickly with range; Can't get full speed out of the device with current technology
The Asus RT-AC66U is the best 802.11ac router out now. Read our Asus RT-AC66U review to find out why.
