Fast and Good Looking! Worth every penny!

Western Digital's own product description (above) gives an accurate, no-exaggeration summary of this hard drive and I really can't take any issue at all with the claims they make for it.

way to heavy and bulky

My wife bought me the WD passport pro 2TB for my Mac Air. Even so it is reasonably fast, not as fast as my thunderbolt ssd drive. It is also very noisy in my opinion. The biggest drawback however is its weight!.

capacity

heavy; noisy; big

Great hard drive that is still running strong after a whole year.

purchased in december 2014 and it's January 2015 now. This hard drive still runs strong! Transfer speeds are around 60-70mb/s and continue to be this way. I use this drive for all my games/media. I wouldn't hesitate to use this as a backup drive but always remember to backup twice.

Western Digital My Passport Pro: A hefty portable RAID

What's striking about Western Digital's My Passport Pro portable hard drive is its size and weight. The 4TB version I tested weighs 1.58 pounds, which is light when compared to your average five-pound clay brick.

Takes A Beating Like A Champ

This experience further cements WD's good name in my book.

I've owned this drive for 5 years, and gave it a lot of abuse; I've thrown it into backpacks, traveled with it, thrown it on the table, dropped it multiple times from desk height; The drive never skipped a beat; The last time I dropped it the plastic casing unsnapped , producing a gap in the body.

None that I can think of

WD My Passport Pro (4TB) Review: Powerful Thunderbolt Performance On The Go

Western Digital's range of USB powered external hard drives - like the My Passport Ultra for instance - are fantastic options for affordable, portable storage… for your average consumer anyway.
