Last year's Tomb Raider reboot was a beautiful release for both PC and consoles. It stretched the ageing Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 to their limits, and also provided PC gamers with one of the year's greatest spectacles.

If you passed on 'Tomb Raider' when it released earlier in 2013, or opted to hold out for the Definitive Edition, now is a great time to experience this incredible franchise reboot; highly recommended on a current gen console.

For those not in the know, Tomb Raider's Definitive Edition is a completely re-mastered game for the two next-gen consoles, with overhauled graphics, a few tweaks here and there and all of the game's downloadable content, all packed together in a single package for gamers to enjoy.

Ever since I played Tomb Raider on the PlayStation 3 I have wanted to write a review for the reboot. It was the first Tomb Raider game I have ever finished. It wasn't my first Tomb Raider game, but the reboot of the franchise has made me a fan of the series and of Lara Croft.

Supporting cast isn't as good; weak multiplayer

Tomb Raider was one of my favourite games of 2013. Rebooting this classic franchise as a dark, grindhouse-esque survival game was no mean feat, but the team at Crystal Dynamics pulled it off.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition gives a facelift to a game that never required one in the first place. The original release of Tomb Raider was easily the best looking game the franchise has spawned in our opinion, so you can imagine how great the new release looks when running on a smooth 1080p...

Lara is a great character in a great game. If you are yet to play it then you would do well to seek out a copy. The question is are you willing to shell out three times as much for this definitive edition.

Last year, I said " Tomb Raider is a resounding success and one of the best reboots this generation." One console generation later, and it's still one of the best games you can play on either Xbox One or PlayStation 4.
