If you passed on 'Tomb Raider' when it released earlier in 2013, or opted to hold out for the Definitive Edition, now is a great time to experience this incredible franchise reboot; highly recommended on a current gen console.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition gives a facelift to a game that never required one in the first place. The original release of Tomb Raider was easily the best looking game the franchise has spawned in our opinion, so you can imagine how great the new release looks when running on a smooth 1080p...

The game play is mostly push button and on rails the game tried to mix in some traditional rpg elements but they come off as pointless to the game play outcome they could have concentrated the games efforts on making combat make any sense whatsoever

Rebooting a franchise can be messy. You want to cater to the fan base that established the game series in the first place while recognizing that times have changed and that characters or even game design must evolve or be left behind in an ever changing medium.

Last year, I said " Tomb Raider is a resounding success and one of the best reboots this generation." One console generation later, and it's still one of the best games you can play on either Xbox One or PlayStation 4.

It's one of the best Tomb Raider games ever made, and it'll live up to the Definitive Edition moniker for those gamers who never set foot on Yamatai Island last year.

This really the Definitive Edition of Tomb Raider, but only because of the graphical overhaul. If you had issues before with the direction in which Crystal Dynamics have taken the character, or with the occasional intrusion of gameplay elements like levelling up and Lara's ability to carry six...

One of the best adventure games on console, with a fantastic blend of action and exploration. The Definitive Edition really is definitive, but isn't worth a repeat buy for those who've already experienced Lara's story.

The new version of Tomb Raider isn't worth a double-dip, but it stands far ahead what has come before. Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is a weird beast. It's the kind of game that would normally be cross-generational, with one version on the older console and another on the shiny new black boxes.

With 2013 behind us, next-generation Xbox and PlayStation consoles in our homes, and a little bit of extra cash to squeeze out of the latest Tomb Raider game, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have thrown everything they have at Lara Croft and come up with a damn gorgeous game.
