With the increasing popularity of digital SLRs with smaller than full frame digital sensors, there has come the demand for wide angle lenses specifically designed for this format. The Tokina AT-X 124 Pro DX 12-24mm is one of several new lenses intended to fit that need.
Tokina's latest version of this classic wide angle optic for Canon or Nikon APS-C format DSLRs sports a fast, smooth autofocus motor in addition to the constant f/4 maximum aperture and costs around £500.

Excellent build quality; Reasonably sharp throughout the focal range; Good colour balance
Not as wide as some other third-party (and first-party) lenses; Some chromatic aberration and halation issues
I used this lens on a Canon 500D/T1i body. The build quality of this lens is that of a TANK! Feels solid, but feels like it outweighs an entry-level body. I adjusted to it, and never had a problem with it.
Image quality; tough build; zoom range; constant aperture F4
my lens crapped out on me; slow aperture F4
auto focus works great than i expected. faster than NIKON D series lens. both lens don't have a internal motor. but this lens looks like toy..compared with nikon lens...cheap lens look...doesn't look like any nikon lens.. but it's ok... overall i can say OK..photo image is sharp and crisp.
After much research and reading many online reviews I chose the Tokina over the Nikon. This decision was largely made because of cost with the Nikon lens being so much more expensive.
