Will not load

I also have read that there are some tweaks that may get the game to run but I think it is ludicrous that you have to tweak the stupid settings to even get the game to run. Terrible company.

Looks to be a good quality shooter if only I could get it to load

I have a relativly high end system with a AMD video card 5770; the game will not run past the beginning movie; I have read on the forums that AMD cards do not run the game well; when I read the requirements I also noticed that AMD cards didn't seem to be supported.

Was not satisfied with this product. It was not compatible with a newer pc.

I bought this game for my son who played it many years ago when he was a child. He loved getting the old school game but when he tried to install it on his laptop it would not install. I did not realize it will not play on a newer system so now he cannot play it.

The Darkness II

For those who aren't in the know, there were lots more comics publishers than just the big two, and a few, like Image comics, made several interesting and gritty titles, of which "The Darkness" was just one.

Darkness 2, The

I've always had this theory. In the beginning of every year, there's that strange lull until we get new quality games, and perhaps it's a bit unfair, but those games set the tone for what the rest of the year will be like. Terrible games are released first?

The Darkness 2 succeeds with good gameplay, but poor multiplayer.

THE DARKNESS 2 is a first-person action game from developers Digital Extremes which is published by 2K Games. The game runs on the 'Evolution Engine', and is rated '18' by the BBFC. What is The Darkness 2?

Good graphics and gameplay; great voice acting; a very compelling storyline

The campaign is short and the multiplayer is rubbish

"Short game"

Has good game play and is very fun but even on hardest difficulty it is still a very easy and short game.

Wrapping up The Darkness 2 review, despite some disagreement over certain factors, The Darkness 2 game is a treat for FPS aficionados, placing the power of gory combat into their hands.

Windows XP/Vista/Win 7; 2 GHz Core2Duo / Athlon 64 X2 4200+ CPU; 256 MB GeForce 8600/Radeon HD 2600 graphics card; 1.5 GB RAM; 10 GB hard-drive space

Lacks innovation; Poor AI; Long load times; lacklustre animation; Very short campaign

The Darkness II is a shooter. OK, so that seems a pretty odd statement to make: Of course The Darkness II is a shooter! But in this sequel's case, it's an important point to consider. The Darkness (the original game on consoles) had the feel of an adventure.

Demonic arms + solid gunplay = fun times; Unusual; creepy story that's more than just cheap shocks; Skill tree gives the action some diversity; Excellent voice acting and sound effects

Incredibly short campaign; Linear levels and second-rate AI make for predictable encounters; Run-of-the-mill co-op missions lack challenge

Definitely worth your time. It's a great-looking game if you love graphic novels, and they absolutely nailed the painted comic style. As comic-esque games go, only Dishonored and The Wolf Among Us achieved this kind of look successfully (although TWAU emulates an inked style rather than a painted...

The Darkness 2

Delivering another action game to the market is a safe bet for most developers and publishers. After all, the genre has been tested and tried so many times and the public still revels in it. However, the real challenge is not making a mere on-the-rails type of shooter with a clich'd story.

Solid gamepaly ideas in this one; cool art; cool execution moves; interesting premise

Single-player's too short; the multiplayer is not compelling enough to make you stay for long; we do miss the open-ended approach from the original game
