hi there i brought this tamron lense 28-75 f2.8 sp xr id aspherical ((IF) for canon digital slr.it is small lense compact but it is very sharp.i love it

I haven't had the lens very long, but it has been very nice for the money. I have used it in various situations and it has performed reasonably well. I am happy with my decision to purchase it.

Was torn between this or a prime lens in the 70mm range for portrait work. Chose this for the versatility of the zoom and the previous reviews that touted the sharpness of lens. It didn't disappoint. This is the sharpest lens in my arsenal.

This is a compact and lightweight wide aperture standard zoom for use on full-frame and APS-C sensor SLRs.

I did a large number of tests, running these lenses through all apertures at 28mm, 50mm and 75mm, shooting several types of test target as well as "real world images" and evaluating images for sharpness, contrast, flare, distortion and chromatic aberration.

Difficult to Clean

This lens is one of my all time favorites. It's fairly light, tack sharp, and has a decent zoom range. The main problem is with mountaineering you tend to want either wide angle or telephoto, which this lens is neither. So, you end up taking multiple lenses with you on a trip.
