I use it on my d800. You can get nice results with f2.8, although it does back focus or soft focus sometimes, especially if you shoot few frames in a row or in a low light conditions.

I haven't had the lens very long, but it has been very nice for the money. I have used it in various situations and it has performed reasonably well. I am happy with my decision to purchase it.

Was torn between this or a prime lens in the 70mm range for portrait work. Chose this for the versatility of the zoom and the previous reviews that touted the sharpness of lens. It didn't disappoint. This is the sharpest lens in my arsenal.
Consistent Output; Razor Sharp; Rugged; Strong Construction; Versatile
Hunts in low light; Slow Focus
Although Tamron's SP AF 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical [IF] lens has been designed for cameras with 36 x 24mm sensors, it is also usable on cameras with smaller, APS-C sized sensors, where it covers a focal length range of 44.8-120mm on Canon DSLRs or 42-112.5mm on all the rest.
You want a fast standard zoom lens with excellent performance for use on ‘full frame' and ‘APS-C' DSLR cameras; You'd like a lens that requires no readjustment when you fit polarisers and graduated filters; You want attractive bokeh at wide apertures.
This is a compact and lightweight wide aperture standard zoom for use on full-frame and APS-C sensor SLRs.
This is a great value lens. The image quality is outstanding for a lens in this price range. There are some things that could be better about it, but for the price in this focal range, and considering it's a 2.8 lens, it's impossible to beat.
Very sharp; inexpensive; 2.8 through entire focal range; excellent image quality
Not rugged; Mediocre focusing speed; Sometimes hunts in low light
Highly recommend this lens. for the price it takes great pictures and I think the build Quality is great for the Price. Just do it you wont regret it.
Price is the Pro; This lens does a great job; You cant go wrong buying this len and adding to your collection; The 24-75 is great for wide and close up shoots,, like Parties and Weddings; the 2.8f stop allows you to tailor your cameras ISO to allow a blur free shoot in low lite.
Wished it shot wider than 24mm; 18mm would have been nice; Sometimes if you are not careful at what you are doing you may end up with a blown out picture because of the 2.8f stop; remember 2.8 will give you a background that is blurred so be careful to increase f stop if you want to capture a group...
I was pretty happy with this lens. For $500 it is just super duper great quality of pictures, especially sharp... Highly recommend everyone, worth each cent.
