Tamron f/2.8 Di III OSD M 1:2 Lens review

Many photographers prefer a standard lens that is wider than the traditional 50mm, and 35mm is often the favoured choice. It is wide enough to give a slightly increased field of view and yet still has good geometry and high standards of sharpness.

Excellent sharpness, Well-controlled CA, Moisture resistance, Excellent flare resistance, Macro focusing to 1:2, Light and compact, Excellent price, 5-year guarantee, Silent AF

Tamron 24mm f/2.8 Di III OSD M1:2 Review

The Tamron 24mm f/2.8 Di III OSD M1:2 ($349) is one of three low-cost prime lenses, all with identical housings and 1:2 macro focusing, designed and sold exclusively for use with Sony mirrorless cameras. Despite an asking price that's a downright bargain compared with others, the lens is sturdily built, with dust and splash protection, and has a very sound optical design. Autofocus isn't as speedy or as quiet as pricier alternatives, but if you're shopping on a budget, you won't do much better near this price. The Wide Standard With more and more photographers cutting their teeth with smartphone cameras, what's been thought of as a standard angle prime has been redefined. For photographers who feel limited by the confines of the traditional 50mm standard prime, a good wide prime can be your everyday lens. The 24mm focal length here is just a smidge wider than the main lens on your iPhone, and matches the widest setting on the de facto standard pro zoom design, the 24-70mm f/2.8....

The Tamron 24mm f/2.8 Di III OSD M1:2 lens is a strong value proposition for Sony photographers, delivering excellent images and quality construction at a bargain price.

Affordable; Compact; Outstanding sharpness; Dust, splash, and fluorine protection

Barrel distortion and vignette may require correction; Slow, audible autofocus; Exhibits focus breathing effect

Tamron f/2.8 Di III OSD M 1:2 Lens review

A slight camera upgrade, new emergency features, and... not a whole lot else

Better selfie camera, Good battery life, Crash detection and satellite SOS are neat

It’s more like an iPhone 13S, Display is still 60Hz, eSIM transition will be easy for most but painful for some

Tamron f/2.8 Di III OSD M 1:2 Lens review

The Apple iPhone 14 is no match for the just-released iPhone 14 Pro, but if you ignore that, it’s one of the most effective phones around.

Great cameras, front and back, Fast performance, Good battery life, Innovative safety features

Design too familiar, Some average features

Tamron f/2.8 Di III OSD M 1:2 Lens review

It’s a great handset, but the improvements are so iterative that most of you will hardly notice what’s new.

Action mode offers truly superb video stabilization. eSIM makes it easy to switch phones (with other iPhones). Satellite SOS and Crash Detection add peace of mind.

Many of the specs remain the same as on the iPhone 13. Small battery gains. Photonic Engine isn’t as revolutionary as suggested.

Tamron f/2.8 Di III OSD M 1:2 Lens review

While it's a shame that picture and sound quality haven't been upgraded, the iPhone 13 was great in these regards and the iPhone 14 is, too Excellent display Admirable headphone performance Solid build quality No upgrades to picture or sound Familiar design Notch is still present

Tamron f/2.8 Di III OSD M 1:2 Lens review

The iPhone 14 isn't much of an upgrade over the iPhone 13, but it's still a great device and an upgrade for anyone coming from the iPhone 11 or older.

Great camera, Good battery, Emergency features are cool, Still excellent performance

Display could use some upgrades
