It's been a slow start for Broadcom's entry into the MU-MIMO router market. The company's 4x4 802.11ac chipset made its first appearence in super-high-end AC5300 class routers like NETGEAR's R8500 Nighthawk X8 and ASUS' RT-AC5300 late last year.
The router turned out to be defective. I sent it in to the manufacturer for a replacement. I should have gone with Netgear.
TP-Link's C3150 is a well built Wave 2 solution with remarkable 5GHz performance but lackluster 2.4GHz performance. For those in the market, I would look for Version 2 with the better WebGUI.
It has all the features including 3ys of antivirus software on the router. being able to see all your connected devices, ton of available settings. Not to mention the price was great! They Matched Amazon pricing without any question.
Big bad point with this unit is that it does not have a modem built in ! Didn`t notice this when I purchased it and have had no end of grief getting a separate modem to work
It combines excellent performance and speed with a reasonable price. Very user friendly and easy to install! If you have any issues try reading the instructions.
Worked for one day then I returned it! Rubbish but looked nice
This TP-LINK AC3150 is nice and simple to setup and configure. On a Spark Fibre connection you need a modem that supports VLAN TAGGING and can specify a VLAN ID of 10. This modem definitely supports this and again is really simple to configure.
Excellent router
