The Rival may not have as many "bling blings" as the Sensei (which has an LCD display and a 32-bit ARM processor), but it gets back to the core of a great gaming mouse: design, performance, and comfort.

Very good for the price but doesn't have very many sensitivity settings and its lighter than I would like though well built. I like being able to have any colour on the lights though.
Today's review will be focusing on the SteelSeries Rival which is a more recent addition to SteelSeries arsenal and one that, surprisingly, ships with an optical sensor as opposed to the ever present laser sensors mostly found in contemporary gaming mice.
The SteelSeries Rival is about as bare-bones as a gaming mouse can be. Only six buttons and a scroll wheel? Madness!
"He is the Asian guy with black hair, brown eyes, and glasses," I told my friend. "Oh yeah, I know that guy!", my friend replied, albeit with a slight tone of sarcasm that can be clearly sensed from a mile away without any further explanation required.
I bought this mouse a while ago, and it works like a charm, but I do have one problem. This problem is the soft-touch plastic wore out were my thumb rests. Rather than that, the mouse is very good. I recommend it.
This right-handed FPS mouse is ergonomically sound, with a strong optical sensor, great precision, and separate profiles for each game or application you run.
Solid ergonomic design; Inexpensive; Angle snapping; acceleration; and deceleration; Excellent optical sensor; Stores profiles for each application and game
Only switches between two dpi settings; No lift-distance control; Macro creation lacks depth; No sleep control when mouse not in use
Good tracker....very good design to play cs..but it would be better if the buttons were concave instead of being convex.
Really good mouse but not enough buttons for gaming IMO. Good button feel and resolution so a good mouse for Windows.
The mouse is ergonomic enough with a safe shape that fits most hands. This mouse could be considered a staple shape for FPS shooters and the build quality is alright.
