Simple, effective, Mechanical Gaming keyboard

This is a keyboard that delivers just about everything that a computer-heavy person or a gamer would need at it's base. Sure it doesn't have macro keys which I don't find useful or have used. It doesn't have RGB lighting, which would be nice but would probably add 30-50$ to the price tag.

Mechanical (MX Red switches) - Backlighting plus intensity control (Blue color only) - Compact (Well as much as possible) - Plug'n Play - Wire routing

-Very small control key; Really wished it was bigger, but after time your pinky just remembers the position of the key

Not until they fix the software.

It is a shame this well built keyboard uses such horrible software. The software is awful. Don't take my word for it, search for "SteelSeries firmware issue" and you will get pages of unhappy customers. My keyboard is working, but not the way it should.

Awesome keyboard for the price

Keyboard works perfectly, and you get cherry mx red's for a really cheap price. There are some small, small build quality issues that you wouldnt find on a more expensive keyboard that used more solid materials such as corsair. It is a tiny bit flimsy. But it's a very solid plastic.

Best gaming Keyboard I have ever had

Best gaming keyboard I have had. Really positive quick keys and different colour setting to suit your needs. So many ways of setting it up that I can not think of anything not covered ! Really good buy would recommend.

Very nice keyboard. Make sure you understand the difference between linear and tactile activation. Also ignore the pictures of a headset. They are just here to confuse you.

- Mechanical; - Heavy; - Good looking

- Linear actuation (should have read better; make sure you understand the difference!; - USB cable not removable

Good illuminated keyboard

Hadn't realised, Scan provided a keyboard with US layout. There is a UK version.

SteelSeries Apex M500

The understated SteelSeries Apex M500 ($99.99) is a mechanical gaming keyboard that focuses on the essentials-high-quality switches, programmable keys, and LED lighting-while forgoing frills like wrist rests, RGB lighting, and dedicated macro keys.

Affordable; Cherry MX Red switches; Programmable keys; 104-key rollover

Lacks dedicated macro keys; Backlighting is only blue and occasionally uneven

SteelSeries Apex M500 Review: Pro Performance, Limited Options

Let's face it: All-purpose PC gaming keyboards are about as good as they're going to get. Between mechanical keys, full RGB lighting and a variety of sizes and shapes, there's not much uncharted territory. Not so for eSports, which is just now coming into its own.

Authentic Cherry MX keys; Streamlined design; Straightforward software; Inventive cable management

No choice of key types; Macro recording could be more streamlined

SteelSeries Apex M500 Mechanical Pro-Gaming Keyboard Review

Cheap membrane based keyboards may still hold the number one spot in terms of sales all over the world (selling like cupcakes a friend pointed out yesterday) but mechanical gaming keyboards are actually far more popular between gamers and by a large margin.

- Excellent Build Quality; - Cherry MX Red Mechanical Switches (50 Million Actuations; - Per Key Illumination With 4 Stages And 2 Modes; - N-Key Rollover; - Unlimited Available Profiles; - Unlimited Macro Keys

- Minimalistic Design (For Some; - Price (For Some
