Watch a game play video. If you think it looks fun you'll love it. If you don't think so, don't try it. I'm really enjoying this game so far playing alone and with irl friends online.

I love this game and if I were reviewing its gameplay it'd get a solid 4/5 stars BUT instead I'm leaving a remark to warn buyers from Australia/NZ! This Amazon listing shows a UK version of the product. The region of your Switch game rarely matters, but this is one to watch out for!
Let's get something out of the way right away: I have yet to play Splatoon on the Wii U, even though I bought it at launch. That means I can't meaningfully compare the new game in the series to its predecessor, but I can address Splatoon 2 on its own merits.
Splatoon 2 used to be so much fun for me, but it's expensive! Now my Splatoon won't allow me to play online because you have to pay an additional amount to play with others. You can still play solo though. I don't know if anyone has the same problem
Like the first Splatoon , Nintendo's sequel to their smash hit isn't your average multiplayer online shooter. You play as an inkling, a humanoid/squid hybrid that uses different items, like guns and rollers, to spread colored ink on the ground and other surroundings.
I tried so hard to like Splatoon 2. I drank the Kool-Aid, and listened to the fan-boys. There are just too many parts of Splatoon 2 that are obnoxious. First thing that happens when we get into this game is to listen to two female squid characters about the different online options and modes that...
Put any doubt in your mind away about Splatoon 2 being some enhanced port or 1.5 release. The improved single-player experience, the enhanced and multitude of online modes for all skill levels and Salmon Run which is just a ton of fun make Splatoon 2 the complete Switch game.
A few extra bells and whistles keeps Splatoon 2 relevant and fun on its new platform, but Nintendo plays it a little too safe for hardened Splatters.
Splatoon 2 feels more like an upgraded, remastered version of Splatoon than a sequel. The single player campaign is different and the cooperative Salmon Run mode is new, but otherwise it's just a fresh paint job on the same game.
Just as fun and frantic as the first game; Improved graphics; More local multiplayer options than the first Splatoon
Online matches are still heavily curated; Doesn't change much from Splatoon
'Splatoon 2' is a must-own multiplayer bonanza for Nintendo's Switch.
Hilarious across all three main modes; Creative and colorful design; Salmon Run changes up the formula; Turf War is as intense and addictive as ever
Multiplayer matchmaking is still archaic; No new competitive modes
