Sony E 11mm f/1.8 Lens - Brand New review

Slightly better cameras but otherwise, not much of an update - buy the iPhone 14 Pro or switch to Android instead

Better low-light photography, Slightly longer battery life, Action mode gives super stabilised video

The same performance as the iPhone 13, No Dynamic Island or Always-On display, 60Hz screen

Sony E 11mm F1.8 Review

The Sony ZV-E10 has become a popular choice for vloggers who live and die by their YouTube views. But its well-established lens system lacks any ultra-wide prime lenses, which are useful tools for recording video at arm's length. The E 11mm F1.8 ($549.99) addresses this shortcoming, and is the widest autofocusing prime you can get for crop-sensor E-mount mirrorless cameras. If you like the view at wide angles and favor the defocused backgrounds an F1.8 lens delivers, the E 11mm is worth a look. Just note that it isn't as well-corrected optically as the next-widest first-party prime for the system, the E 15mm F1.4 G.Wide Angle and Aperture The E 11mm F1.8 realizes a much wider view than the E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS or E 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 OSS zooms that Sony bundles with its APS-C mirrorless cameras. This new lens squeezes more of the world into the frame, a benefit for photographers who explore urban environments, capture landscapes, or work in tight interiors. Our Experts H...

The Sony E 11mm F1.8 should appeal to landscape specialists and vloggers who want a wide lens that delivers characterful bokeh highlights.

Lightweight, F1.8 prime; Wide-angle view on APS-C cameras; Quick, quiet autofocus; Almost no focus breathing; On-lens function button; Dust and splash protection

Ghosting in backlit scenes; Some chromatic aberration visible; No anti-smudge fluorine glass coating; Hard-edge bokeh might be divisive

Sony E 11mm f/1.8 Lens - Brand New review

The iPhone 14 comes to market with the same launch price as the previous generation. At the same time, iPhone connoisseurs were more than disillusioned after the presentation of the new smartphone. Apple leaves large parts of the hardware unchanged and does not dare to change the design.

Top performance level despite last year's chip, Very high quality workmanship, Improved image and video quality, Excellent battery life

Hardly any innovations, Charging takes too long for 2022

Sony E 11mm f/1.8 Lens - Brand New review

A slight camera upgrade, new emergency features, and... not a whole lot else

Better selfie camera, Good battery life, Crash detection and satellite SOS are neat

It’s more like an iPhone 13S, Display is still 60Hz, eSIM transition will be easy for most but painful for some

Sony E 11mm f/1.8 Lens - Brand New review

It’s a great handset, but the improvements are so iterative that most of you will hardly notice what’s new.

Action mode offers truly superb video stabilization. eSIM makes it easy to switch phones (with other iPhones). Satellite SOS and Crash Detection add peace of mind.

Many of the specs remain the same as on the iPhone 13. Small battery gains. Photonic Engine isn’t as revolutionary as suggested.

Sony E 11mm f/1.8 Lens - Brand New review

The Apple iPhone 14 isn’t a huge upgrade on the iPhone 13, yet it still is a great phone with a top camera, good battery life and all the iOS benefits.

Clever safety features, Very good battery life, Reliable camera, Fun colours, You’ve got an ageing iPhone: If you’re on an iPhone 11 or older, then the changes here will make a notable difference.

Stuck on a 60Hz display, Minimal differences to the iPhone 13, You’ve got an iPhone 13: The changes from Apple’s previous phone aren’t enough to warrant an upgrade this year.

Sony E 11mm f/1.8 Lens - Brand New review

The Apple iPhone 14 is no match for the just-released iPhone 14 Pro, but if you ignore that, it’s one of the most effective phones around.

Great cameras, front and back, Fast performance, Good battery life, Innovative safety features

Design too familiar, Some average features

Sony E 11mm f/1.8 Lens - Brand New review

“The iPhone 14 isn't a huge upgrade compared to its predecessor. But with a great design, screen, performance, and cameras, that's far from a bad thing at all.”

Comfortable, high-end build, OLED screen looks fantastic, A15 chip performs great, Good camera upgrades, Dependable battery life, Helpful safety features

60Hz display, No telephoto camera, eSIM might be a pain for some

Sony E 11mm f/1.8 Lens - Brand New review

The iPhone 14 isn’t much of an upgrade over the iPhone 13, but it’s still a great device and an upgrade for anyone coming from the iPhone 11 or older.

Great camera, Good battery, Emergency features are cool, Still excellent performance

Display could use some upgrades
