Even if there are parts of the Sony α9 package that feel like overkill, that's kind of the appeal.
20 FPS Continuous shooting; Dual USC-II SD Slots
Astronomically expensive

The a9 is an impressive shooter that can appeal to photo amateurs who can spend the money ($4999.99), or to professional photographers who prefer to carry a compact camera instead of a heavy DSLR.
Sony Alpha A9 (or A9 for short) is designed to compete against with Canon and Nikon's professional DSLRs. Here is our review
2 years back, I experienced the fantastic Sony A7 II during a wedding shoot. It was worthy as a replacement to the DSLR, with a few exceptions, like the battery life, the auto-focus, and the whole organic feel of an optic equipment. What struck me…
The Sony Alpha A9 is a phenomenal camera. It's not without its faults – we'll be interested to see how the weather-sealing holds up when it's properly exposed to the elements for starters, while the absence of XQD card slots and very limited touchscreen control is disappointing.
Blistering performance; Incredibly fast and capable AF; No viewfinder blackout; Impressive level of customization; Excellent results from 24MP sensor; High-res viewfinder; Oversampled 4K footage
Weather sealing not as robust as rivals; No XQD card slots; Balance not great with long lenses; Very limited touchscreen control; Battery life not a match for rivals
What more to say This camera and lens combination takes glorious photos, and helps you take them easily. My, what a great camera and lens.
Glorious photos; easy to use
Quite the price
My first impressions with a Sony a9 after using for 6 months while in transition from another professional camera outfitter. General. 1. Two SD card slots; a fast one in slot 1 and a slow in 2; both should have been the same. 2. No USB 3 3.
The Sony Alpha A9 is a unique and confident full-frame camera that's meant to challenge the Canon and Nikon hegemony over the market for professional sports, action and event photography. This isn't an easy task given how accomplished both the Nikon D5 and Canon EOS-1D X Mark II are.
A new My Menu feature lets you register up to 30 menu items for instant recall, arrange items in any order, and erase unused items. Also, primary menus have been reorganized for smoother search and operation.
Quite simply, the Sony A9 is quite probably the best camera on the market today across all types and categories.
20fps silent shooting; Full-frame sensor; Flip-up screen
Small body can feel unbalanced with larger lenses; Expensive; Relatively short battery life
