The Sony Alpha A9 is a unique and confident full-frame camera that's meant to challenge the Canon and Nikon hegemony over the market for professional sports, action and event photography. This isn't an easy task given how accomplished both the Nikon D5 and Canon EOS-1D X Mark II are.

What more to say This camera and lens combination takes glorious photos, and helps you take them easily. My, what a great camera and lens.

The Sony Alpha A9 is a phenomenal camera. It's not without its faults – we'll be interested to see how the weather-sealing holds up when it's properly exposed to the elements for starters, while the absence of XQD card slots and very limited touchscreen control is disappointing.

The a9 is an impressive shooter that can appeal to photo amateurs who can spend the money ($4999.99), or to professional photographers who prefer to carry a compact camera instead of a heavy DSLR.

Even if there are parts of the Sony α9 package that feel like overkill, that's kind of the appeal.

Able to perform well for work and even some games or entertainment, this notebook is an excellent choice for the average user.

I own and use the Sony A9 (ILCE-9/B) since August 2017 and had sufficient time for testing, with landscape, nature and street photography. I mostly used the Zeiss Batis 85mm. In summary, I can say that this is a really strong camera, and it better be at with this price! Is the camera perfect - No!
