Sony Alpha A6600 Body Digital SLR Camera Black - Brand New review

The iPhone 14 comes to market with the same launch price as the previous generation. At the same time, iPhone connoisseurs were more than disillusioned after the presentation of the new smartphone. Apple leaves large parts of the hardware unchanged and does not dare to change the design.

Top performance level despite last year's chip, Very high quality workmanship, Improved image and video quality, Excellent battery life

Hardly any innovations, Charging takes too long for 2022

Sony Alpha A6600 Body Digital SLR Camera Black - Brand New review

A slight camera upgrade, new emergency features, and... not a whole lot else

Better selfie camera, Good battery life, Crash detection and satellite SOS are neat

It’s more like an iPhone 13S, Display is still 60Hz, eSIM transition will be easy for most but painful for some

Sony Alpha A6600 Body Digital SLR Camera Black - Brand New review

It’s a great handset, but the improvements are so iterative that most of you will hardly notice what’s new.

Action mode offers truly superb video stabilization. eSIM makes it easy to switch phones (with other iPhones). Satellite SOS and Crash Detection add peace of mind.

Many of the specs remain the same as on the iPhone 13. Small battery gains. Photonic Engine isn’t as revolutionary as suggested.

Sony a6600

If your needs aren't quite as demanding, the Sony a6400 and Fujifilm X-T30 offer much of the functonality of the a6600 and X-T3 for less money, and both have earned our Editors' Choice recommendation.

Real-Time Tracking focus system; Big battery; Improved handgrip; Integrated EVF; Stabilized image sensor; Dust and splash protection; 4K recording

Single, slower UHS-I card slot; No focus joystick or front dial; Drops in-camera flash

Sony A6600 : Good but not quite Canon

A super fun, super quality camera with super battery life – but not a camera that wins our unqualified approval

Great stills performance and quality; Well made; Superb battery life;

Faces stark competition for video; Buttons could be easier to hit;

Sony A6600 review

On paper, the a6600 should be the APS-C camera to beat, with a top-performing sensor and a range of features that will appeal to a broad swath of photographers. However, Sony has resolutely stuck with a form factor that’s not as comfortable as rival cameras, with a convoluted menu system, and options that don’t always work as you’d expect them to.

Excellent tracking mode (with some limitations); Wide range of compatible lenses; Fantastic battery life;

Awkward controls; Convoluted menu system; Touchscreen control still limited; Single UHS-I card slot; Small preview area on screen

Sony A6600 Review

The A6600 has plenty of enticing features, but it's let down by disappointing body design. It's a good choice for those who shoot a lot of sports and action, but there are plenty of rival models that are also up to that job. It’s also just a little too similar to its predecessor to draw too much enthusiasm for the extra outlay.

Great autofocus; Long battery life; Lots of lenses and accessories available;

Slightly awkward body design; Touchscreen not fully integrated; Single UHS-I card slot;

Sony a6600 Review

After years of steady development of its full-frame mirrorless system, Sony has set its sights on updates to its more compact and affordable APS-C line. It started things off with the a6400, and followed up with a model below it, the a6100 ($749.99, body only), and one above it, the a6600 ($1,399.99, body only), which is the subject of this review. The three models share the same image sensor and basic feature set, but the a6600 sets itself apart with in-body stabilization, a high-capacity battery, and an overall sturdier build. It's a strong camera, with class-leading autofocus performance, but falls a bit shy of being an Editors' Choice. Sony's Flagship APS-C Sony describes the a6600 as its flagship APS-C model. It has a fittingly high-quality build, packing internals in a magnesium alloy body with seals to protect from dust and splashes. The form factor hasn't changed much versus the earlier a6500, though the new model enjoys a better, deeper handgrip. The a6600 measures 2....

Sony brings its class-leading autofocus tech and big Z battery to its a6600 APS-C camera, but we wish there were improvements in other areas too.

Sony Alpha A6600 Body Digital SLR Camera Black - Brand New review

There’s a lot of great features in this all-round model from Sony. It’s packed with fantastic technology which enables you to capture subjects in a variety of different scenarios. However, the body design lacks imagination and can even be frustrating to use at times.

Fantastic autofocusing, Superior battery life, Good Sony ecosystem boasting lots of lenses and accessories

Body design could be better, Limited touchscreen functionality, Sensor smaller than full-frame
