Great zoom lens with large aperture! Being able to get telephoto with f/2.8 is what I needed and the lens produces great pictures on my Nikon D7000. Build is very solid, zoom and focus rings are smooth. Only issue is its a bit heavy, but what do you expect from lens with this capability.
Consistent Output; Durable; Fast / accurate auto-focus; Nice Bokeh; Strong Construction

Sigma's new APO 50-150mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM lens is one of only two large-aperture tele-zoom lenses for cameras with APS-C sized sensors. (The other is the Tokina AT-X 535 Pro DX AF 50-135mm f/2.8.
You need a fast; effectively-stabilised lens for portraiture or product photography; You want a zoom lens that can be used with polarisers and graduated filters; You require good flare resistance in backlit situations.
You have a camera with a 'full frame' (36 x 24mm) image sensor, You need a small, lightweight lens; Don't buy this lens if, You have a camera with a 'full frame' (36 x 24mm) image sensor, You need a small, lightweight lens
This new f/2.8 telephoto zoom from Sigma is the answer to many photographers' prayers. As lenses go, this one is rather short on what you could class as key features, but that doesn't mean that it's below par. In fact it sets the benchmark on what a telephoto zoom should offer.
I purchased this lens to complement my Tokina 12-24mm f/4 and Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 OS for my Nikon D7100. The 50-150mm is super sharp even at f/2.8 and all focal lengths. Focus is fast and bokeh is very nice - Very pleased!
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Consistent Output; Lightweight; Sharp Focus; Strong Construction
This lens is excellent The build quality and picture quality are both superb. It is basically the APS-C equivalent of 70-200 on full frame (just a touch longer). If you are looking for a lens of this focal length range, I doubt if you could beat this.
Great Picture Quality
Very nice lens for indoor portraits or outside. Focusing is silent fast and accurate. Very well made with focus friction override and zoom anti-creep (when you hold the camera up or down). You'll probably have to hold the lens when shooting as it is somewhat heavy.
Was in debate to go for either the Tamron 70 200 or this Sigma. With the aim of replicating full frame reach whilst saving many pounds, I am not disappointed, it offers a very practical focal range. This lens is very sharp with excellent colour contrast.
I really like this lens. It is my first "professional" grade lens and I am VERY impressed. The sharpness of my photos is a magnitude above that of the kit lens for my Canon T3i. Photos taken with this lens are tack sharp! I read some reviews stating that at F2.8 there is softness at the edges.
Much Cheaper Than L Glass; Quick Focus; Very sharp
Heavy; Large; Not For Full Frame Camera
