Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM Art
At the time of its launch in 2013, the Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM Art ($899) was a revelation. As the first full-frame prime lens in the company's Global Vision Art series it made a big impact, undercutting other f/1.4 lenses in price without sacrificing image or build quality.

Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Review
The Sigma 35mm f/1.4 is unlike any of the Sigma lenses we have seen in the past. I must applaud Sigma for stepping up and challenging the big brands, by spending their resources on engineering new generation lenses with amazing optics – all at a great value.

The first time I used this lens, I was a bit dissapointed. I could find the sharpness like my 35 1.4L. The reason was that my art had e terrible backfocus of +18 on my 5D MK3's. After Sigma calibrated my lens, I had a nother lens!

Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Lens Review (Canon Mount)
Overall, not a bad thing can be said about Sigma ‘ s 35mm f1.4 EX. The company surely put a lot of time and effort into the design and it ‘ s worth every penny. The lens is sharp as a razor, a relative speed-demon when it comes to focusing, and has some beautiful image quality.

sharp!
this lens is better than the canon's 35mm 1.4L, period. it's sharper across the aperture range, focuses just as fast (if not a tiny bit faster), the build quality feels great. i've owned the canon 35L and had both at the same time before letting the L glass go.

Nice lens! Good job, Sigma!
This is a very good prime lens for portrait, street shooting, and some landscape. Works fine on my Nikon D700, but need to adjust focusing with +15 fine tuning, not bad at all! Image quality is super good, someone said it is even better than 35G, which is $500 more expensive than this one!

This lens is just a pleasure to shoot with, and gives your pictures a unique look that just makes you smile. I'm sure you've read a ton of other reviews that talk about its sharpness, and I'm telling you they weren't exaggerating.
