I recently got the Sigma 18-200 f3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM C lens for my Canon 1100D. This is the first third party lens I've bought. Took over 200 photos the morning after receiving it (only stopped taking photos because I had to go to work) and am very happy with the results.

Sometimes we are joking about a hypothetical 18-300mm f/1.8 to meet all our photographic needs. Well, we aren't quite there yet nor will we ever see such a lens on a DSLR but the manufacturers are at least scratching this focal length range with some 18-200mm variants and the Sigma AF 18-200mm...

I bought this lens used a couple of years ago and paired it up with a used canon 7d, the total investment for both lens and camera was little less than $600. Overall, this is a very sharp lens. The drive motor is a little noisy but it focuses quite fast even in low light conditions.

Perfect travel companion with excellent image quality for a tight budget. Lower build quality than their A series and still zoom ring but this is tolerable for its price range

Unsurprisingly a lens with this kind of focal range is rarely going to perform as well as one with a shorter range, but we were impressed overall by the results possible. Certainly unless you're into extreme wide or telephoto work, or demand the ultimate quality, you could really be very happy with...

Very practical for travel, children and, in my case (I have two wide angles), using it as telephoto. The lens is very well built, but the focus ring is a little loose. Sharpness is pretty good if you stop down, but wide open could be better.

I had a non OS Sigma 18-200 and it was a nice little walk around lens. Took very nice shots with my Canon XTi. I upgraded to the OS version to get the OS function. It seems to work well – probably provides me with 2-3 stops performance and saves a lot of shots for me in less than bright light.
