Fun Lens

I bought this lens specifically for its Fish-Eye barrel effects for video. It's a very expensive lens for this single effect so if you're looking for a good wide-angle lens for a cropped sensor camera such as the Canon 7D, I highly recommend the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X 116 PRO DX, which is nearly...

Amazing wide-angle for Canon 7D or any other 1.6x crop sensor; Bought this for video work with my 7D and have used it many times, either for the fun fish-eye effect, or to show a 180 degree panorama.

Not sharp at the f/2.8 range in comparison to other Canon or Tokina lenses; Stopped up to the 4 range and you'll see a big difference but lose a lot of the low light capability that makes this lens appealing.

Good for cropped Canons

I wasn't sure about this lens when I couldn't find conclusive reviews or samples for this lens, but I'm glad that I took a chance. It's sharp and slightly wider than the Tokina 10-17mm (did a side by side with a friend's Tokina).

Consistent Output; Durable; Easily Interchangeable; Easy To Clean; Rugged; Sharp Focus; Strong Construction

Sigma 10mm f2.8 EX DC Fisheye

Fisheye lenses aren't like ordinary wide-angles. For a start, their angle of view is wider (a full 180 degrees on a Nikon DSLR) and second they don't attempt to correct straight lines, rendering them instead as curves. These two factors produce distinctive and highly odd renditions of the world.

Sigma 10mm f/2.8 EX DC HSM Diagonal Fisheye

Fisheye lenses like this Sigma 10mm f/2.8 EX DC HSM are very popular thanks to massive interest in panorama photography

Excellent resolution when stopped down; Good resolution in the centre at f/2.8; Chromatic Aberrations kept to acceptable levels; Build Quality; Silent focus motor

Curved hood makes lens difficult to place down without lens caps

The Hyper-Sonic Motor (HSM) not only makes the autofocus practically silent but it also means that Nikon D-SLRs without built-in motors can still use autofocus mode.

Although I have all Canon lenses and mostly L glass, I am over the top with this little gem. I love this Sigma 10mm! On my 1.6 body it will give me 162 degree angle of view. There is a filter in the rear of the lens which is very nice for adding ND filters when shooting slowmo water.

Very sharp; Will it distort? Hello! This is a Fisheye review

Cap lining is wearing out; :
