While its previous true wireless were a solid pair, Sennheiser gets it right at the second attempt. While ANC is rather light, paired with a good fit and volume control and they keep away a good deal of noise.
Expressive; lush sound; ANC; Good fit; Robust feature set
Pricey; ANC and Transparency Mode tax battery life
These Sennheisers are among the most refined-sounding wireless earbuds we’ve tested - if your budget can stretch this far, you won’t be disappointed
Refined; mature sound; Lightweight and comfortable; Nice to use
Relatively pricey; Timing can be bettered
Sennheiser has made one of the best sounding pairs of true wireless in-ears with the Momentum True Wireless 2. If what you want more than anything is incredibly well balanced sound that holds the bass together and offers great detail and clarity, look no further.
Great and balanced sound; Battery life vastly improved; Charging case is attractive and portable; Passive noise cancelling works well
Quite expensive; Design isn't the most comfortable for long periods of wear; ANC doesn't seem to do a lot
The sound quality, battery life, and design of the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 are nothing short of excellent, and we would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for an alternative to the Sony WF-1000XM3.
Incredible sound; Sleek design; Support for Hi-Res Audio
May be uncomfortable for smaller ears; More expensive than rivals
“Sennheiser managed to make the best sounding earbuds even better.”
Unrivaled sound quality; Stellar active noise cancellation; Simple setup and controls; Revamped battery life; Sleek aesthetic
Expensive; Comparatively bulky design
It’s not often that I have to refer to a manual while I’m reviewing something, but that’s exactly what I found myself doing while reviewing the $300 Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 (MTW2).
Sublime sound; Snug; comfortable fit; Customizable controls; Solid ANC performance
High price; Unintuitive default controls; No wireless charging on the case
A lot has happened in the True Wireless headphone market in the last few years. Many big players including Apple, Samsung and Huawei have entered the market, and many technical developments have taken place.
Sennheiser has successfully addressed all my complaints about their first true wireless model. The fit is more ergonomic, the battery life is infinitely longer and the technical design flaws have finally been fixed. The sound is the same, but the Momentum sound signature needed no improvement.
