Genuinely Surprised

When I changed from a Nikon based DSLR outfit to a Fuji X-T1 mirrorless recently I wanted a replacement for my well used and much loved Sigma 10-20mm f4/5.6. The thing is I never used the Sigma at the long end and I wanted something small and light to go with the dinky Fuji - in stepped the Samyang...
Pros:
  • Consistent Output
  • Lightweight
  • Sharp Focus

Rokinon (Samyang) 12mm f/2.0 NCS CS Wide Angle Lens

The Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 is an excellent lens choice for those looking to shoot in low light. I wouldn’t suggest the Rokinon 12mm as a starter lens for newcomers to photography or as the sole lens in a photographers kit, but instead as a low light tool for those looking to improve their images when...

A highly recommended manual focus fast ultra wide lens with very high utility per cost ratio.
Pros:
  • Excellent lens for the price
  • Great for landscape, environmental portraits, and astrophotography
  • I list manual focus as a pro - this lens is a great hyperfocal quick-shooter
  • Lightweight and compact - my goto travel lens
Cons:
  • Plastic in the outer housing and lens hood
  • Doesn't effect the operation or utility of a great lens

Amazing lens! Feels like a $900 lens

Amazing lens! Feels like a $900 lens! I love the stiff focus ring. The resistance makes it precise for pulling focus in video. If you want to pull focus in video, this is great! Keep in mind... This is a manual lens.

Smooth Operator

An amazing wide-angle. Works perfectly on my Canon M5. Ideal large aperture for wide-angle astro landscapes. Sharp and well-controlled artifacts, even wide open at f/2. Very quality build. Only complaint is the six aperture blades - makes for less than impressive starbursts.

Superb image quality . Pin sharp details

Superb addition to my Sony A6000. As stated by many others no need to worry about manual focussing as everything is pin sharpe from front to back, from about f5.6 when your distance marker is set on the little line just before infinity . Use focus peaking on your Sony and jobs a good 'un.
