I'm not new to weights, but this game is challenging lol It incorporates cardiovascular activity with strength training and yoga. Also has a nice cool off period with stretching after the game when you want to give it a rest. All this while battling monsters and saving the planet from some big weight lifting demon… Not a bad way to get the kids off the couch!
Ring Fit Adventure is a really nice surprise. What could easily have been a bland experience aimed at the casual crowd is actually a proper video game that’s bursting with Nintendo’s usual charm. On its own, the core RPG element is a substantial offering, so when you add in the minigames and custom workouts it’s actually one of the best all-round packages of the year, particularly as the Ring-Con is an expertly crafted accessory could easily be used in future games. Sure, some of the tracking functionality feels a bit wonky, battles are a bit on the grindy side, and no amount of of playtime is going to earn you the physique of The Rock. But even serial gym-skippers will find something to like in Ring Fit Adventure, and I’m determined to keep crushing that Ring-Con until the world is safe from blusterous weight-lifting dragons.

This exercise-focused peripheral might not be for everyone, but if you want to spice up your boring workout with a light-hearted adventure game then the Ring Fit Adventure might be for you. It's a great way to fit in some exercise under the guise of an RPG. Just don't expect it to be as effective as the gym.
