The $249.99 Razer Huntsman V2 Analog is a textbook example of the “flagship keyboard.” It’s big. It’s flashy. It has luxurious bells and whistles. Its highlight, though, is the keyboard's namesake feature: Razer’s Analog Optical switches. They let you adjust the point where keys send signals to your computer, plus recreate the “half-press” functionality found in gamepads. In the past, Razer’s put some of those features into the Tartarus Pro keypad and other niche devices, but the V2 Analog adds new tricks, and brings the ideas front and center. We're still not sold on using a gaming keyboard to emulate a gamepad, but the extra customization options have many, cool uses. Overall, the Razer Huntsman V2 Analog is an excellent keyboard and an Editors' Choice pick. A Big Day for Analog The Huntsman V2 Analog is sleek for a mammoth, full-size keyboard. Despite measuring 1.81 by 17.45 by 5.5 inches (HWD), or 1.81 by 17.45 by 9.03 inches (HWD) with its magnetically attached wrist rest, th...
The Razer Huntsman V2 Analog, a juggernaut of a gaming keyboard, offers numerous key customizations that replicate using a gamepad's analog sticks. If you're a tinkerer, it'll be your new, favorite input device.
Razer Analog Optical switches offer fine-tuned controls; Adjustable key triggers give you more customization options; Customizable media controls; USB 3.0 passthrough; Detachable wrist rest with RGB lighting
Doesn't fully simulate a gamepad's functionality; Extra features make the Synapse software overly complicated; Expensive
Its a great keyboard, excellent to type on. excellent for gaming. can be customised in so many ways with the razer synapse software. and in games that support analog movement, you realise just how sensitive these analog optical switches are. the wrist rest is super comfy, and the rgb looks sweet, would compliment any gaming PC setup. I paired it with some pudding PBT keycaps and its glorious. the only downsides are the high price, and that windows recognises this as an additional gamepad due to the analog switches, so you may run into some problems with games that only recognise one controller. protip: (steam big picture > rearrange controller order) will fix that
The new Huntsman V2 Analog represents one of the biggest leaps forward in computer hardware in quite some time. While Razer's new board is marred by its extortionate price, there's no doubt that its feature set, complete with sturdy build quality and incredible Chroma backlighting, provides one of the most complete peripheral packages of the past few years.
Analog switches can be a game-changer; Crisp backlighting; Sturdy build quality;
Immense cost; Software programming can be fiddly; Can be super-loud;
Loving every keystrokes. You get what you paid for.
