Project Spark is an imaginative and rewarding game about making games. It's tough, but worth the work.

Make Your Dream Game
Project Spark differs from other create-a-games. It goes the extra step of not just giving players blank canvases on which to create their own adventures, but also hands them powerful tools to help sculpt, mould and carefully craft their experiences.
+ Powerful creation tools; + Community Games are fantastic; weird; + Easy-to-follow tutorials; + Virtually limitless content
- Xbox One controller sucks with accuracy; - Loom of micro-transactions
Despite a long-standing adoration for the medium of video games, I have never been interested in trying to make my own. Even with that mindset, however, Project Spark quickly got my creative juices flowing in an enjoyable way.
Project Spark allows you to unleash the gaming creator inside you
The most powerful game creation tool ever released for a console, but it's less accessible than it could be and the endless microtransactions leave a predictably sour taste.
Fantastically powerful and surprisingly easy to use once you start to experiment; Far more versatile than any other creation tool and the Starter Pack is reasonable value for money
Limited and often confusing tutorials make the complex tools impenetrable without outside help; Microtransactions are as distasteful as ever; All the pre-made games are pretty bland
There are a lot of words that I could use when talking about Team Dakota's game making sandbox title Project Spark for the Xbox One. Amazing, diverse and inspiring are just a few. As someone that's dreamed of someday designing the games that I love to play Project Spark is an amateur's peak at what...
Positives Easy to understand tutorials Interesting community creations Limitless possibilities
Negatives Possible money drain Can be a bit overwhelming Radial design menu takes a bit to get used to
Project Spark is a unique and interesting entry in the sandbox creation genre. Project Spark ‘s creation studio is adequate enough that will allow you to do almost whatever you want within the limitations of the engine.
After playing Project Spark for an extended period of time, I must say I was disappointed. A game built around creation makes it frustratingly difficult to do so. Combine that with a singleplayer mode stifled by pay walls and the options are pretty limited.
Allows you to expand your creativity to places you've not been able to before. Like Minecraft, but better.
