The Pentax Q is an odd camera. It tries to pretend to be like a SLR with interchangeable lenses, but sports a tiny compact camera sensor. It's small with the 50mm prime lens but still too big to put in a pocket.

The Pentax Q; for such a small format system, it's amazing how great the quality is in its bread and butter lenses 01,02, and 06. The 02 is very well constructed and the glass quality is superb. 27mm wide fine for my purposes so I have yet to try the new ultra wide 08 lens.
Durable; Easy To Use; Lightweight; Reliable
The Pentax 02 Standard Zoom is the basic kit zoom included with the compact Q7 camera, and is an overall solid performer with a few weaknesses. (4 out of 5) Pros Light Useful zoom range Wider aperture than typical zoom Generally sharp design Cons Slightly soft at 15mm Lots of distortion when...
Light; Useful zoom range; Wider aperture than typical zoom; Generally sharp design
Slightly soft at 15mm; Lots of distortion when shooting in Raw mode
Got this lens with my original Q and continue to use it with my Q7. It's a good lens just not a great lens. For a time, it was the only Q-system zoom and it just wasn't wide enough or long enough. The 06 and 08 lenses have improved that situation.
Light weight; useful range; reasonable image quality
not always sharp; vignetting does occur on Q7 at wide angles
The Pentax-02 Standard Zoom 5-15mm f/2.8-4.5 is the 2nd kit lens offered for the Pentax Q. Its focal lenght range is equivalent to a 27.5-83mm lens in full format terms. Just like in our previous Pentax Q lens review we need to point out that the max.
The Pentax 02 Standard Zoom Lens ($299.95 direct) is the lens you'll get if you buy the Pentax Q10 camera -but if you bought into that camera system with the original Q , which was bundled with the 01 Standard Prime Lens (47mm equivalent), you may be considering this as a complementary zoom.
Sharpness suffers at longer focal lengths; Distortion at widest setting if shooting Raw

The first thing you notice when you handle the Q Zoom is the quality--this is one of the smoothest zoom lenses I've ever used, regardless of price. Although the manual focus ring is a little less of a quality feel, being light plastic and prone to scratching, much of the res of the lens is metal or...
