Nikon D6 review

For pro stills photographers who are already invested in the Nikon system, the Nikon D6 is a powerful, reliable workhorse of a camera. It's naturally overkill for most amateur snappers, but if you have a large chunk of cash burning a hole in your pocket, it’s a fantastic option for several reasons. Wildlife and sports shooters who already own a cupboard full of Nikon lenses, for example, will likely be tempted by its tracking autofocus performance. But it’s not without its foibles, with Live View focusing and video being particular let downs, while its Canon and Sony rivals edge it in key areas.
Pros:
  • Super-fast AF
  • Lots of control dials and buttons
  • Touch-sensitive screen
Cons:
  • Live view focusing not great
  • Overkill for most photographers
  • Expensive

Nikon D6 DSLR Digital Camera Body (CFX) - Brand New review

The obvious camera for sports photographers , wildlife photography, and those that work in extremes of weather or extremes of safety, such as press reportage photography. For these people the size of the camera will be a potential benefit, giving re-assurance and potentially protection.
Pros:
  • Class-leading battery life*, Excellent noise performance, Great colour reproduction and options, Extremely solid camera body, High-speed shooting, In-camera raw editing
Cons:
  • Weight and size limit appeal for general use, Doesn't offer fastest continuous shooting speeds, Videographers will most likely want something else, Slow live-view focus

Nikon has upgraded its flagship where it is needed most!
Pros:
  • Very fast and precise autofocus, little black out in the viewfinder, complete ergonomics and endless setting options. Built to last.
Cons:
  • Lacks tiltable screen, slightly lame autofocus on live view video, and limited video options compared to many mirrorless full-frame cameras.
