Monster Hunter World: Iceborne review – mammoth expansion

Capcom's smash hit open world epic gets a massive new expansion that adds some unseasonably snowy monsters and a ton of new content.

The new area is great in terms of how it handles the snow and cold, and all the new monsters with their unique abilities; Clutch Claw is useful and there are plenty of handy quality of life improvements

The requirements to play, in terms of your character's experience, are surprisingly demanding; No new weapon types and the new area isn't any bigger than most of the existing ones

PC Port Review: Monster Hunter World

Just before we go ahead, a little heads up that the following review will be based solely on how the game performs on the PC platform. For the original review of the game please check here ! Spoiler Alert: The game is absolutely fantastic!

Good Range of Graphical Options; Can be Played With Mouse and Keyboard; Can Look Beautiful on High End Settings

Unoptimised Port; Highly Demanding in Performance; Needs Control Rework for Ranged Weapons; Connectivity Issues; Even a 980ti isn't Enough for Consistent 60fps

Great game, fun, esp for single player, but not enough players playing online to make this a viable go-to-game

This game is good, first ever Gundam that's been brought to North America (it had been Japanese release only) However the draw back is, for online game play, you would have to join Asia servers since there's not a lot of players that play locally in the North America. Hence, it'll lag.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne review

Full disclosure here: I got into Monster Hunter because of World. Having only briefly dabbled with MH3U and MH4, the many changes and tweaks to the formula for World enticed me to finally give the fra

Huge roster of new monsters; New mechanics feel essential; The meta has been completely overhauled; Hoarfrost Reach is beautiful; Incredible endgame

Multiplayer organisation is still a bit odd

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne: "A better version of an already great game"

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is an excellent expansion so large that it almost feels like a sequel. It's a better version of a great game.

Dozens of cool new monsters; The best-looking armor in the series; The most challenging hunts World's ever seen

Several annoyances remain unfixed
