Monster Hunter World (PS4)

While its weighty combat (often erroneously labelled 'clumsy'... it's anything but, once you know what you're doing) means it still may not appeal to...

Packed with incredible encounters; Open environments work brilliantly; Quality-of-life improvements everywhere

Online systems still a little clunky; Relatively low monster count; Likely to devour all your time

Monster Hunter World: review

Monster Hunter is one of those franchises that its fans fall utterly in love with – piling many dozens, or even a few hundred, hours into each title – but a significant number of newcomers find almost impenetrable.

Just eats up your time!

Bought this the day it came out (confirmed MH fan!) and it did not disappoint! All the stuff that made the old Monster Hunter games so addictive, but now with super easy co-op play, and graphics to die for ( the monsters look especially fantastic) thumbs up from me!

Enjoyable

First time playing the series so was unsure what to expect. Would say it caters more to gamers who like in depth gameplay and mechanics as it does have a learning curve and a little patience to understand the systems implemented. Excellent game and plenty of hours of fun to be had!

One of the best games I've played this generation

MHW is challenging but always fair, and any problem can be overcome with the right tools and enough determination. This game can take over all your free time if you let it (I've played about 300 hours over six months) and the developers have kept new gameplay content coming in regularly, and all...

Monster Fun

This was the first Monster Hunter game I'd played properly and it's a blast. Nice variety of monsters with more on the way and so much content you can stop after the campaign and still feel like you've got your money's worth.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Review – A Winter Wonderland

Capcom took the gaming world by storm in 2018 when they released the first-ever Monster Hunter game to be available outside of the Nintendo system. Monster Hunter World is an amazing game with beautiful graphics, great AI and fantastic gameplay.

More grind; New weapons add level of dynamism to gameplay; Many more hours of content; Improved multiplayer difficulty scaling

Still some AI glitches that can cause frustrating defeats; Hefty price tag

Great game, fun, esp for single player, but not enough players playing online to make this a viable go-to-game

This game is good, first ever Gundam that's been brought to North America (it had been Japanese release only) However the draw back is, for online game play, you would have to join Asia servers since there's not a lot of players that play locally in the North America. Hence, it'll lag.

Master quests, master hunters, masterpiece - Monster Hunter World: Iceborne review

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne adds just what Monster Hunter World needed and even more quality of life changes to the greatest Monster Hunter game of all time. The new monsters and quests pack a punch, and there's enough content to justify the price.

Plenty of new quests; Extremely challenging for players looking for a greater challenge; New equipment including layered equipment and upgrade levels for weapons; Beautiful new locations

Way too difficult to tackle alone; Long loading times for Hoarfrost Reach
