I'm mostly a newbie to flash photography and decided on getting this product after being hired to shoot a runway fashion show. I kinda figured the runway was going to be poorly lit and that I would be the only photographer there, so using an on camera flash would be ok.
Consistent Output; Easy To Use; Fast Recycling; Powerful Output; Versatile
Possibly A Battery Hog
Unusual flash as is first flash with LCD touch screen ever. Can't complain about control flow, maybe not fastest if you need to change EV comp very often (but is compatible with inbody settings of flash EV comp "-2" to "+1" which is great and much handier!).
features; look; lcd; power; Metz
can't rotate completly 180° to both sides - only one; lowest lcd brightness still too bright
A really well made flash that performs superbly. Touch screen not as responsive as it could be but works well.Great features and integrates well with my E-M5 and GX 7.
Easy to Use; Lightweight; Reliable; Strong Construction
Taking advantage of Boxing week pricing , I bought the Metz 52 af1 for my nikon d5100 sometime in January. And since then I have been taking it through the paces.ttl is seamless, in servo mode I'm able to execute off camera flash exposures using the cameras' inbuilt flash to fire the metz.
The best flash you could match with a Canon SLR. The quality "made in Germany" is just outstanding. Metz always has made the best flash ever.
