Metal Gear Survive isn't a great game, but it is a fun game. Journeying into the Dust to find resources and survivors is a legitimately tense experience and your progress through the game feels satisfying.

Despite losing the soul of the series, there's fun in Survive's resource-gathering base-building loop and co-op action.

Health, thirst, and oxygen deplete too aggressively, Enemies are uninteresting to the point where it's better to avoid them, Story is forgettable

There is a point early in Metal Gear Survive where all that I’d dreaded about it seemed to come to roost. An encounter with multiple enemies in harsh conditions with rapidly depleting thirst, oxygen and hunger meters had me stumped.

Overall, Metal Gear Survive is an instantly forgettable, drab and insulting entry in the Metal Gear series that isn't worth your time
