"This bag seems great as a recreational travel airline "personal item" that will also be good for carrying extra items for day trips. I like that the main compartment fully zips open for loading and has tiedown straps and a small mesh zipper pocket on the side neither of which show in the photos.

Bought this for an upcoming overseas trip and for some 'adventure' trips around western Canada. The pack is amazing. I'm amazed by how much I can fit into this "little" 22 litre pack. The way the pack opens all the way to lay flat is exactly what I was looking for as a companion carry-on.
