The Logitech Orion Spectrum

I'm sure there are far more knowledgeable people, (gamers/workers) than I who have their own reasons for the board they chose, for the particular style of game play or the way they work. The G810 works for me.

So far it is everything I was looking for when I went searching and more; The Romer-G keys have a shorter stroke than my 7 yr; old MS board and will take a bit getting used to, however I'm improving after only 3 days.

I truly can't call this a con, surely a grand idea and option for many I'm sure, I don't have a use for the majority of the lighting options; Someone with big brains might consider doing a studies on light affected epileptic seizures, trance inducement via light manipulation and vertigo inducement...

In order to change colors and patterns, Logitech utility software needs to be downloaded from their website!

Excellent gaming and general purpose keyboard. The lighting feature is definitely a plus too! Keyboard has good heft and definitely has the feel of good make quality.

I hunted long and hard to find a mechanical keyboard that didn't have uneven lighting (Cherry switches light up the top of the key but the middle/bottom is dim) and also didn't look stupid.

- Beautiful lighting that lights up the whole key evenly; - Neither ugly nor gimmicky looking; - I (subjectively) love the feel of the keys; - Light touch/activation distance; - Only 1 USB port required

- Spring noise is very noticeable if you mash the keys heavily; - Feels a bit "scratchy"; but likely this can be fixed with some lubrication; - The media buttons are crappy pop-buttons; - Backlight flickers; - No USB passthrough

Beautiful feel and looks

I returned a lower model logitech gaming keyboard for this one and the difference is night and day. This is heavy, tough, has fantastic mechanical keys, and the RGB looks amazing out of the box. I love the per-game customization of the layout.

Great mechanical keyboard

Fantastic mechanical keyboard. Not just for gaming but for general typing as well. Looks quite stylish for a gaming keyboard and doesn't look out of place like the pretty much every other one. Just note its a tad narrow than a full size board but doesn't take long to get used to.

Great, but expensive

For the features this keyboard provides, it makes sense why the price is so high. It comes with the Romer-G mechanical switches; I prefer that over the cherry mechanical switches. The keypresses feel softer and it is good to know that they are more durable than the cherry mechanical switches.

Review: Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum gaming keyboard

I learnt to type on a desktop. A desktop typewriter, that is. An enormous clunky thing with a key travel that must have been a good 25mm and required a very firm strike to make sure it flung the type head with sufficient force to leave a character on the paper.

Excellent feel; very solid; very useful and controllable backlighting; ability to save and share profiles

Fairly tall so may take a little to get time to get used to
