Review: Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum

Logitech got it all wrong with the ugly and overpriced G310 keyboard, but has more than redeemed itself with this, the G810. At an RRP of almost $250, however, this is up there with the most expensive mechanical keyboards on sale in Australia, so it needs to be special.

Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum Keyboard

We review the Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum, outfitted with the company's own Romer-G switches instead of the industry standard Cherry, plus full RGB lighting. The exterior of the Logitech G810 Orion is identical to the G610 Brown and G610 Red, in fact, with the lighting disabled, there's no way to...

Romer-G switches are quieter than Cherry; Beautiful lighting; Dedicated media buttons and volume roller

Extra ping noise when typing; Keys caps show too much finger-grease shine; Romer-G stems not Cherry compatible

Beautiful feel and looks

I returned a lower model logitech gaming keyboard for this one and the difference is night and day. This is heavy, tough, has fantastic mechanical keys, and the RGB looks amazing out of the box. I love the per-game customization of the layout.

Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum Gaming Keyboard Review

The Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum is a slick gaming and media keyboard that can be customized in seemingly endless ways, and if you've got other Logitech accessories such as a mouse or headset, you can even sync up the light show.

Great mechanical keyboard

Fantastic mechanical keyboard. Not just for gaming but for general typing as well. Looks quite stylish for a gaming keyboard and doesn't look out of place like the pretty much every other one. Just note its a tad narrow than a full size board but doesn't take long to get used to.

Keyboard Comes Alive

Purchased 5 of these on special for my family (not one for me though!) having seen them at an extremely good price. Very well built and much quieter than the previous mechanical keyboards my eldest sons were using. The number of options to change the key colours and patterns is mind-boggling!

Last year, while building my new PC, I was also in the market for a brand-new keyboard. I previously had a classic rubberdome keyboard, but I decided if I was spending the money, I might as well upgrade to a mechanical model.

Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum REVIEW – Elegant, simple, and awesome

For the past 10 years, with a few exceptions, I've called the Microsoft Ergonomic 4000 my keyboard of choice. I've bought probably nine or 10 of them over the years, hammering through one every couple years thanks to hours and hours of daily typing.

Great, but expensive

For the features this keyboard provides, it makes sense why the price is so high. It comes with the Romer-G mechanical switches; I prefer that over the cherry mechanical switches. The keypresses feel softer and it is good to know that they are more durable than the cherry mechanical switches.
