Great lens. AF works ok, (not the Fuji X cameras strength) as a 60mm lens. Light, small, well made.
Image Quality
Autofocus for macro on Fuji X camera is completely useless

Exceptionally sharp, even for a close to 50mm lens. Extremely low distortion. No discernible fringing. Entirely immune from flare. Exceptional metal lenshood which embarrasses the plastic types Fuji supplies with more recent lenses.
The Fujinon XF 60mm f/2.4 R Macro lens is a fast mid-range telephoto prime lens for the X-Pro1. Being unable to provide a 1:1 reproduction ratio, it's not a true macro lens and would be better classified as a 'short telephoto'.
It's offered with the Fujifilm X-Pro 1; You require superior performance and robust build quality; You want a lens with excellent flatness of field; You like shooting with filters.
You need true macro capabilities, You require fast and accurate focusing for close-ups; Don't buy this lens if, You need true macro capabilities, You require fast and accurate focusing for close-ups
The Fujinon XF 60mm f/2.4 R macro is the best of the three initial lenses for the X-mount. The image quality is already very good at f/2.4 and bitingly sharp around f/4. The resolution remains impressive till about f/11.
Gary Wolstenholme reviews the new Fujifilm Fujinon XF 60mm f/2.4 R Macro Lens with the Fujifilm X-Pro1.
Excellent sharpness from edge to edge; even at wide apertures; Low distortion; Very Lightweight; Traditional design; Excellent build
Issue with internal reflections under certain conditions; Slow autofocus at close distances
Great pictures, bokeh, and build quality. Feels very solid. Others have complained about its slow focus speed, but I haven't really noticed unless the lighting is pretty low (like iso 3200 low)
I returned it. It was exceptionally slow. Other reviewers said so but I wanted to try it because I love macro but I'm not a skilled enough photographer
I own the 18-55, 55-200, 18f2, 35f2 and the 60f2.4 and the 60 is my favorite. It's probably the slowest lens of the bunch, and might be the noisiest, but the rendering is gorgeous and it simply takes beautiful photos. I use the others for fun, but I use the 60 to put food on the table.
