The original GFX 100 was a groundbreaking camera, but the Fujifilm GFX100S takes it all to another level. For the first time there’s a 100MP medium format camera packed into a DSLR-sized body, including image stabilization, and costing as much as some of the latest full-frame mirrorless snappers.
102MP on tap, Improved IBIS, Relatively small and compact
Still quite heavy, Continuous AF not perfect, Expensive for some
GFX100S is an ideal choice for commercial and wedding photography, particularly with one of Fujifilm’s excellent prime lenses. The 32-64mm zoom lens is a good match for the camera for ‘walkaround’ shooting, whether it’s street photography or fairly gently bushwalking.
It’s medium format with minimal headaches from this 102MP maestro
Superb medium format images, Half the price of the GFX100, Compact, lightweight design, User-friendly features
Still expensive for a camera!

The best camera we have tested has come in a more compact version at a lower price.
Fantastic color reproduction and dynamics. Extreme resolution provides superb sharpness, and image stabilization helps with handheld photography. Professional video quality with external sound recorder. Relatively reasonably priced for a medium format camera.
Moderate shooting rate and follow focus. Lower resolved viewfinder than GFX100.
The superb image quality offered by a medium-format model often comes at a cost – and not just a monetary one. While the GFX100S remains expensive, it’s smaller, lighter and easier to use than most cameras of its type, and on the price front it’s over £4000/$4000 cheaper than Fujifilm’s only other 102-megapixel camera. Enthusiasts and professionals may be the target market, but this is a camera anyone can use – provided they can afford it.
Compact and lightweight for its class; Excellent medium-format sensor; AF and IBIS make it easy to use; Half the price of the GFX100;
It’s still very expensive; No battery grip available;
The Fujifilm GFX 100S is the smallest, least expensive way to achieve image quality beyond what full-frame can currently offer. You lose some responsiveness and flexibility in return for that, but as an image-making tool the GFX is excellent. It's also a surprisingly capable video camera but its smaller battery risks being more limiting than it is for stills shooting. Impressive in the studio and beyond.
Landscapes, portraiture, studio work;
Fast-paced action and scenarios that require rapid responses;
