I purchased the EF-42 to couple with my X10. Works smoothly and well. No surprises; the flash does exactly what its rating indicates. The flash weight is not cumbersome. The flash cycles rapidly. No complaints as the flash works as advertised.
I have to confess that I'm a dedicated Fuji fan ever since I swopped my heavy/cumbersome DSLR for the Fuji XT-1. I love the compactness and quality of the camera and the lenses. Consequently I bought this flash without really bothering to read any reviews or feedback.
Consistent Output; Easy To Use; Powerful Output
No Slave Capability
Up until Sept 2016 this was the big gun of the Fuji flash line and in many ways for what I mostly do it still is. The EF-42 is small enough that it doesn't make you XT or Pro top-heavy yet puts out plenty of light for direct TTL fill or bouncing off a ceiling, off a card or even using a dome.
Great inexpensive flash for use with the Fuji XE-1. The head swivels in different directions for bounce flash, great for portrait photography. Highly recommended.
