Corsair Scimitar RGB Elite Review
Even before I played a lot of PC games, I knew about the Corsair Scimitar. I read blogs and magazines and saw pictures of "the crazy gaming mouse with a full number pad on the side." The 2015 Scimitar RGB actually had 12 numbered buttons on the side, which made it particularly memorable, even among MMO mice. Today, with the rise of hotkey-heavy MOBAs and a small MMO revival thanks to games like Final Fantasy XIV and Temtem, Corsair would like to oblige anyone looking to step up their macro game with the new and improved Scimitar RGB Elite ($79.99), which features a more powerful sensor, improved durability, and a slightly lighter frame. That's not much of an upgrade after five years, and even less when you remember Corsair made a Scimitar Pro between then and now. In the Scimitar RGB Elite, Corsair updates its iconic, macro-mad MMO mouse for 2020 in small, technical ways, but the refresh doesn't bring anything truly new to the table.
Comfortable shape; Whopping 17 customizable buttons; Adjustable side panel; Improved sensor
Scads of macro buttons force some uncomfortable thumb movements; Few actual design changes from previous version
