Nice camera but look into the downside of it

This is a great camera /Video camcorder small and lightweight the downside is manual Zoom a d because of canon new mxf filming file if you have an imac you have to buy a down load converter as imovie and final cut pro do not support this file and these cost around 35$ if I'd known this I would have...

Canon XC10 Review

Canon's new XC10 is not a camcorder and not a full blown camera. It is a hybrid camera with limited capabilities. 12MP stills, it is way below SLRs. Also video capability is limited. CF Compact card is an odd choice. The battery life is poor.

Canon XC10

The XC10 is Canon's entry-level Cinema EOS camera. However, it's a rather different beast compared to other members of the Cinema EOS range, such as the C100 . For a start, it's price of a little over £1,500 puts it much closer to consumer-grade camcorders.

Brilliant 4K image quality; Built-in lens offers 10x zoom; Better 12-megapixel stills than most camcorders

Non-interchangeable lens; 4K only recorded to expensive CFast 2.0 cards; No XLR audio inputs

Crossing the Bridge: Canon XC10 Review

The Canon XC10 is a camera that attempts to bridge the world between video and stills. As a video camera its features are compelling: broadcast quality video in a compact, self contained package, including a 305-Mbps 4:2:2 video codec, a 24mm-280mm zoom lens, and access to the same color profiles used on Canon's professional Cinema EOS cameras. On the stills side the XC10 can capture 12 megapixel images using the full area of its sensor. Though not as much resolution as you get with many dedicated still cameras, it can prove useful for certain applications such as on-set photos or citizen journalism.

Shooters whose primary focus is video; Users who need to match video looks to one of Canon's Cinema EOS cameras; Producers who need broadcast quality video on a budget;

Shooters whose primary focus is still photos; Photographers who require Raw file support; Anyone who needs interchangeable lenses;

Odd but fun camera

I have mixed feelings about this camera. It has features a more professional camera should have: 4k and fast frame rates. So it's a bit strange that a lesser camera than the C100 (my workhorse), has a few better functions.

Review: Canon XC10 4K Camcorder

4K, or Ultra HD, is the hot video buzzword these days. All the manufacturers are touting their 4K cameras and display devices, even though 4K content is sparse and expensive to produce. Or, is it?

Don't Believe the Complainers

This camera is getting a bad rap and I'm here to set the record straight. Let's keep the main thing, the main thing and here's the main thing ... How fast can you set-up a shot and how well does that shot or video look That's the bottom line for ANY camera.

2 Years In - Pleased - Not Disappointed

So, this camera has taken a lot of negative press as being underwhelming in the competitive low-end 4K camera market. It doesn't have some of the bells & whistles its competitors have, and there are definite limitations.
