This 13x19-inch wide-carriage model uses eight inks for vibrant colors and deep blacks. Just know that, if fade resistance is a key concern, this is a dye, not pigment, printer.

Superb photo quality; Support for oversize stock; Dye inks for vibrant colors and deep blacks; Gray ink enhances shadow detail and monochrome images; Support for wireless connectivity and disc printing

Dye-based inks are less fade-resistant than pigment ones; No LCD

Canon PIXMA PRO-100 Wireless Single-Function Color Inkjet Printer

I just got this a few days ago and it does all I ask of it . I go through printers like water and this one is built like a tank. I can only see good things from this. Set up was tough I am a mac user and it did not like most of the software.

Just what I needed

I have been wanting to get a photo printer for a while and with much research this is the one I decided upon. It's a sizable printer, so keep it in mind and check the dimensions, but it is expected as it does print large A3 prints, which is something I'm really enjoying.

Canon Pixma PRO-100 Review

The Canon Pixma PRO-100 ($518.94 at Amazon) may be the new junior model in Canon's professional photo inkjet line, but as such it can still output gallery-quality prints at sizes up to 13 by 19 inches. It's a good choice for an amateur photographer who's looking to take the hobby more seriously. At 8.6 by 27.2 by 15.2 inches (HWD) when closed, it's slightly larger than its Epson counterpart, the Editors' Choice Epson Stylus Photo R2000 ($2,173.56 at Amazon) , and about the same weight. Like the R2000, it lacks an LCD; instructions and data like ink tank levels are displayed on the screen of the computer you're printing from. It offers WiFi and Ethernet as well as USB connectivity. The PRO-100 uses eight ink tanks for its dye-based inks: black; gray; light gray; yellow; magenta; photo magenta; cyan; and photo cyan. The high-end model in the series, the Canon Pixma PRO-1 , sports 12 ink tanks. Although the PRO-100's sticker price is much less than that of the PRO-1, its ink cost...

The Canon Pixma PRO-100 may be at the low end of near-dedicated photo printers geared to photo enthusiasts, but it still produces photos worthy of hanging in a gallery.

Moderately priced for a near-dedicated photo printer; Outputs gallery-worthy photos; Reasonably fast

Some color issues, mostly in graphics

Canon Pixma Pro-100 review

With smartphone photography, an ordinary consumer photo printer will do a decent job printing out selfies or photos from Facebook, in 4 x 6. But if you’re using a more advanced camera, like a DSLR with a bag full of lenses, the typical home photo printer won’t do you justice if you want to take advantage of all that high resolution. The Canon Pixma Pro-100 ($499) is a serious photo printer for those serious about their photography. It probably won’t give you the same quality as one of the prosumer photo printers in the $1,000 price range, but someone would have to look very closely to see any difference. And, the price will appeal to pro photographers on a budget or home users looking to add some oomph to their printed images. Keep in mind that the Pro-100 is a specialized printer designed to turn out great looking photos from high-resolution files. It’s not for churning out pages and pages of homework. The printer has very few noticeable controls on its attractive (well, we think so) ...

Print size up to 13x19; Excellent output quality; Black inks generate excellent monochrome prints;

Large and heavy; Slower print times;

Great quality photo printer, inexpensive to operate

I have owned this printer for several years now. Here is my review: 1. I purchased this when it was free, if I remember right, after purchasing a camera/lens combo. I purchased a 7D and a 70-200 L F4 II IS lens. I also picked up some 13X19 Canon pro Platinum paper for $50.
