Canon EOS 250D Kit 18-55 STM Black - BRAND NEW review

“The Rebel SL3 is a fine DSLR camera but doesn’t stand out next to Canon’s new mirrorless options.”

Canon EOS 250D Kit 18-55 STM Black - BRAND NEW review

Coming a couple of years after the 200D made its debut, the 250D sits almost at the bottom of Canon’s DSLR line-up, designed to capture the imagination of beginner photographers. Many of the same specifications have been carried over from its older model, but one interesting new addition is 4K video...

Good image quality in most situations, Fully articulating, touch-sensitive screen, 4K video recording (albeit with a crop), Huge number of accessories available, Good price

Limited 9-point auto focus system through viewfinder, 95% viewfinder coverage, 4K video crop, Kit lens not great

Canon EOS 250D Kit 18-55 STM Black - Brand New review

The iPhone 14 comes to market with the same launch price as the previous generation. At the same time, iPhone connoisseurs were more than disillusioned after the presentation of the new smartphone. Apple leaves large parts of the hardware unchanged and does not dare to change the design.

Top performance level despite last year's chip, Very high quality workmanship, Improved image and video quality, Excellent battery life

Hardly any innovations, Charging takes too long for 2022

Canon EOS 250D Kit 18-55 STM Black - Brand New review

A slight camera upgrade, new emergency features, and... not a whole lot else

Better selfie camera, Good battery life, Crash detection and satellite SOS are neat

It’s more like an iPhone 13S, Display is still 60Hz, eSIM transition will be easy for most but painful for some

Canon EOS 250D review

It’s a great handset, but the improvements are so iterative that most of you will hardly notice what’s new.

Action mode offers truly superb video stabilization. eSIM makes it easy to switch phones (with other iPhones). Satellite SOS and Crash Detection add peace of mind.

Many of the specs remain the same as on the iPhone 13. Small battery gains. Photonic Engine isn’t as revolutionary as suggested.

Canon EOS 250D Kit 18-55 STM Black - BRAND NEW review

The Canon SL3 is decent for landscape photography. It keeps noise and graininess in images to a fairly low level, even when using moderately high ISO settings. Its fully-articulated screen is bright enough to be seen in direct sunlight.

Ergonomic design., Good battery life.

Relatively bulky., Mediocre build quality.

Canon EOS 250D review (Rebel SL3): Back to basics

The key to a good entry-level DSLR is providing easy-to-use functions for those less skilled. Whether they are trying a DSLR for the first time or looking to progress from basic auto shooting to more creative work, the camera needs to provide a route in and a way to learn more.

Vari-angle touchscreen allows forward-facing view; Suits beginners and advanced shooters; Live view focus-tracking performs really well; In-camera effects and scene modes actually useful; Strong battery life

4K video requires cropping and suffers rolling shutter; AF points limited with viewfinder; Bulkier than mirrorless options

Canon EOS 250D Review

The Canon EOS 250D is the world's lightest DSLR with movable screen, the camera weighs just 449g with battery and memory card. Updating the EOS 200D, the 250D offers 4K video recording, a 24mp sensor, and is designed to be easy to use for beginners, as well as offering more advanced shooting.

Compact DSLR with vari-angle touch-screen; 24mp sensor with good noise performance; 4K video recording; Excellent colour reproduction; Easy to use menu system and controls

Only 9 AF points when using OVF; Slow continuous shooting in comparison to mirrorless cameras; No built-in panoramic shooting mode; Could be quicker access to controls
